Re: Hybrids?

The magic number is 4000rpm. It isn't about drivers vs hybrids -- nor even wedges. If your launch characteristics are within the allowable launch parameters, the program should give good answers. It's worth noting that the program allows inputs outside those parameters, and will even calculate a res...

Re: Importing from Excel

How about CSV file, might make it a little easier on the programmer to create an import routine. Thanks for the suggestion. Great idea! Again, can't promise it in the next version. But we'll keep it on the "want" list. It may be easy, or it may be hard; depends on what the next version looks like. ...

Re: increase swing speed and angle of attack.

You say you did reading and watched YouTube. Have you used TrajectoWare Drive to check those hypotheses? Hey, remember what the forum here is. Try it! I just ran a few trajectories using your 84mph clubhead speed. I assumed you have a loft of 12° on your driver. If it is less, then that is the first...

Re: Version for Mac

Frank is really busy lately, so it's on me. I'm working (slowly) on a web version. Can't cite a date yet, and it remains to be seen if we can make it work as well as the Windows version. I'm probably only 20% done with it at the moment.

Windows 10

I have heard rumors that Windows 10 breaks some CAD program I assume this is a question about TrajectoWare Drive, and whether it will run under Windows 10. It does on my computer, no problems. (It's an AMD chip, not Intel, if that matters.) Something has broken the other trajectory program I use (T...

Re: reinstallation problems

I now have updated to Windows 10.. but I cannot now reinstall the Trajactoware program as I encounter error 2503 and 2502 messages. I have gone out an gotten a registry verification and correct program to assure my computer is up to date but still cannot reload the program. Does anyone have a answe...

Re: Importing from Excel

Interesting thought. We'll have to add it to the feature wish list. Not one of the top five or so things on the priority list, but it sounds worth doing. Might be hard to do in general. The spreadsheet would have to have its format constrained -- if we can do it at all. Thanks for the suggestion. Da...

Re: driving range balls

Bert, let's review the things about the ball that might be different. WEIGHT AND SIZE: As you have noted, these are already the default values for TrajectoWare Drive. BALL SPEED: The conventional wisdom is that range balls are "limited distance". The most obvious way to make this happen is to includ...

Bert also sent me email with the question in more detail. Re: Face tp path calculation

The percentage depends on the obliqueness in the D-plane. For a square face, that is simple loft. For zero loft, that is simple face angle. In general, we are talking about the angle in space (specifically, in the D-plane) between the direction the face is pointing and the direction the clubhead is ...

Re: Realistic Launch Angle

I was using the software to try and find out my max distance based on my swing speed and it seemed that the higher the launch angle and the less backspin the more my distance went up. True as far as it goes. But you were finding max distance where the independent variables were launch angle and spi...

The question is: how can you get that high a launch angle with that little spin? And the answer to that questions is: you need about an 18* angle of attack. That would mean a ball teed up about 3 inches above the ground and almost a foot and a half forward of your swing bottom. Then use a driver wit...

Not a video, but I have some diagrams in http://www.tutelman.com/golf/design/swing3.php BTW, I have looked again at the article. It is not as bad as I first thought. True, there is no explicit inclusion of spin, which is a fatal flaw. The formulas for CD and CL seem to assume some sort of "average" ...

Re: optimal loft for 73mph swing

Good question on AoA. ...you can see on high speed video she is going nicely. She does have a slight cupped wrist at impact but face is square. She tends to hit just above center of face so I think what you are saying that increases loft more. I tried the ping 16* womens club and she hits it super ...
